Kenzie –
I have worn these everyday for the last two years for work. With the exception of a few scuff marks, they are as solid as the day I bought them. There is no sign of wear and tear and I’m pretty hard on them. The footbed is very comfortable. I used to have bad foot pain from being on my feet all day, but no pain at all now! The shoes have stayed odor free despite being worn 12+ hours a day for two years. Because of the slip resistant soles I tend to choose these shoes over others I have on my days off too. It rains a lot where I live and I trust the soles to keep me on my feet in slippery situations.

First pair i bought were very comfortable, my second pair became uncomfortable after 30 days, at 45 days of wear i took the insoles out and found the bottom had began disintigrating. It seems the company decided to cut corners and use a cheap, flimsy insoles. I would have rather paid more. I can no longer wear the shoes.

And they have walked hundred miles of roads devastated by hurricanes, floods and tornadoes! While I was on my 12th deployment, my husband bought me a second pair and when he presented me the box, I cried! I still wear both pairs. I can also wear an orthotic, when needed, between the foot bed and the TriPad. I love my Alpines!

love my new SAS boots. As previously noted the heel box is a little wider than I am accustomed to but still a great boot. They do run a little large also.

Even the WW size was barely the width of a standard W. Had to return because the WW was not wide enough for me. I usually wear Clarks W.

I would not normally spend $170 for a pair of everyday shoes but I am so glad I did. I have arthritis in my knee, a torn Achilles tendon, bunions and a hammer toe, yes I am a mess, and I am always in need of comfortable and supportive shoes. A lot of shoes aggravate and cause additional pain in my knee and ankle but the SAS Alpine did not. On the first day I wore the boots, I took out the insole and used my orthotics and wore them all day without any breaking-in time. After three weeks of only using my orthotics, I put the factory insoles back in the shoe with my orthotics and still lots of comfortable with no knee, ankle or foot pain. I ordered my normal size and took advantage of the extra wide width making the fit just right. This boot has met all my needs and more. It is a extremely well made boot , attractive and comfortable. I am gladI I spent the extra money because what I got is worth every penny. And thank you Zappos for your generous return policy as it takes me ordering several pairs of shoes before I get “just the right”one which the SAS Alpine met that challenge.

Very comfortable and versatile. I wear these out doing errands and the extra height of this boot gives me more confidence when the errands become a bit more vigorous. They look great with all my newer leggings, too. They aren’t very feminine looking, but work with lots of styles anyway. Footbed still requires a bit more arch support if you have high arches.

Ordered reg size. Much too long. Exchanged for 1/2 so smaller. Toe box not very deep. Fore and mid foot not wide enough for a WW. The heel box is oddly large. Had to buy insoles to take up room. Feels like they may be men’s shoes. Need another eyelet hole at top for holding closed at ankle. Disappointing

Kind of plain but reliable SAS. Non-slip, well-made, true to size, lace-up so I can keep the top around my ankles looser or tighter. I’m going to sray them with water-proofing spray before I wear them in the water and snow. The SAS brand spray works well.

These are NOT non-slip boots.
I have bad knees, and as a result deal with both pain and balance issues when I walk. I had been searching for a good pair of ankle boots for winter, and when I saw these “non-slip” boots, I thought I had found just the thing. I have had them for about a month now, and I am going to have to give them away because they are definitely not non-slip when I walk on wet surfaces (like my front walkway when it rains) or on tile (like my bathroom). I don’t know why it’s happening – I have examined the soles, wiped them down with a dry rag, wiped them down with a wet rag – nothing has helped. I’m going to have to give them away because I don’t feel safe wearing them. $188 bucks down the toilet. 🙁

Leather was soft and supple, but I did not like the overall look of this boot.

I wear a wide. These were too wide in the heel. Had to return.

Ordinarily I would NEVER spend $174.00 ish for a winter boot but I was desperate. I have arthritis in my toe joints and have to have a high, squarish toe box. I searched the internet, etc. and these were about the only ones that fit my needs. These boots are sooooo comfortable; I can wear them all day at work and my toes never rub and become painful. Money well spent.

I wasn’t sure about this shoe, but I’m happy with this purchase. They sat in the box for months before I tried them on out of desperation for foot relief and to walk pain-free. I ordered my usual size and width, and they fit well and width is fine. There is enough room in the toe box. I removed the insoles and replaced them with more supportive ones. I have foot issues, and am recovering from a broken ankle. Out of all the supportive shoes I’ve worn since the break, these are the most comfortable yet. Not the most attractive shoe, but I’ve received compliments on them. Finally a comfortable winter shoe! Thank you SAS and Zappos!

Sas ruined the most comfortable pair of shoes Ive ever owned, by changing the insole to some cheap insole that falls apart on the bottom after about 30 -60 days of wear. When you pay this much for a pair of shoes, the insoles should not degrade. I do not recommend.

I’ve lost track of what number pair this is. I work in retail (concrete floor covered in carpet tiles) and live on the southern shore of a Great Lake. Can you say snow and cold? These are great because I don’t have to carry extra shoes to work to change into/out of in the winter time. Love the removable foot bed. I wear orthotics for both feet, so I need a “flat” foot bed to start. My one “complaint” is they are a tad too hot for summer temperature s in the 90’s. Would wear year round if I could.
Pearl –
Perfect fit and completely comfortable right out of the box. This boot is cute enough to wear with tights and skirts, as well as for serious hiking with its stable, grippy sole. Definitely fits my short list for an upcoming trip to the real Alps.
Branamme –
Use this in CT this winter and they are comfortable and feel safe walking in them. Fantastic shoe

Unfortunately, having flat feet, with arthritis in one toe and a hammertoe in the other, they both can become quite painful at times. Therefore, I needed a work shoe that provided exceptional comfort and support for at least ten hours a day. Including a toe box that gives the toes room to move, which also required no break in time. Although I was not looking for boots at the time, I researched and purchased the Alpine non slip lace up boot and discovered they actually made my feet extremely comfortable right away, not to mention the comfort lasted all day long. Now, I will no longer purchase painful stylish shoes, because my feet are comfortable and I am happy. *I also don’t receive the shock waves I feel while walking in certain department stores, because of the non slip bottoms of the boots, which is another plus! I absolutely love these boots…

I love these shoes! I have A lot of first issues. 1. I crashed into a tree while zip lining and have Trauma induced arthritic ankles. 2. Found out I have a Z foot or Skew feet That should have been operated on when I was a child. As a 50 year adult I am now prone to brakes on the side of my feet So shoes are very important to me and I have to wear them during all my waking hours. I have to wear orthotics. Too late for surgery now. Most shoes just hurt, for some reason they seem to come too far up in the top of my foot is constantly hurting. I decided instead of a regular shoe I would try these Sas alpines so the shoe doesn’t end where my foot hurts normally. When they arrived I initially tried them on for about five minutes without my orthotics and already was extraordinarily helpful because the shoe didn’t hit the top of my foot where the tongue normally lies. They were extremely comfortable so after about five minutes of where inside the house I Put in my orthotics. Even without their extra padding they still felt great. I wore them to work the next day and the only thing that has disappointed me with the issues is the shoestring itself! Even when I double knot – they will become loose. But that is my only complaint I wear a nine wide and they seemed perfect for my foot and my foot & were stable around the ankle. They are light weight yet provide good support. I am a very happy shopper!

Very little arch support which I need for my orthotics. The boots are totally non-slip and great for the rain.

It ran large for width

SAS has made a very comfortable shoe. I wanted a shoe with a non-slip sole for our wet and icy winters, and I am glad that I found the SAS Alpine. The leather upper is oh so soft. The short boot style lends to great ankle support.

SAS has been my “go to ” work shoe for 20 years. Unsurpasded comfort and durability. MADE IN THE USA

These boots were comfortable from the moment I tried them on. They are supportive without being stiff, the leather is soft and supple, and the toe box is roomy enough to wear thicker socks. Although function wins out a bit over form, they are not unattractive, and look great with jeans.
