Lots to say about these shoes. They were a replacement for my original SAS, same design, black, 20 years old. Yes, you read that right! These babies last. So on a whim I decided to go for the blue, which I thought were a kind of suede. Well surprise, it doesn’t say it anywhere, but these are a metallic blue! At first I was rather taken aback, but then I started to like them and now I love them. Gotten lots of compliments on them too, not your typical boring grandma shoes.
The bad part is that I am a 6.5 Medium but I went ahead and ordered the double wide and I can’t imagine how I would have gotten in them if I got regular medium. These are not wide at all. The arch support is pretty decent, but I find the heel to be very hard for my picky feet. Unfortunately when I tried to put in a 1/4 inch memory foam liner, the shoes become extremely tight, something that wouldn’t happen if these were a true double wide. The rest of the sole is reasonably comfortable, but I’m very disappointed in the overall fit of the shoe. Since I’ve already worn them outside, my best hope is that with time they will soften up a bit and then maybe I can add a much needed heel pad.
If you are anywhere close to needing a wide shoe, think before you get these.

I wear SAS-brand shoes. This shoe did not suit my particular foot. The blue color is very pretty and it’s too bad that the shoes did not fit. The sizing is fine except that I found the shoe a bit narrow for me. Also, the angle of the shoe was too steep for me. The soft innersole did not grab the arch under my foot and I pitched forward in the shoe. Shoe manufacturers are commonly using soft, rubbery and squishy materials in place of the leather innersoles of the past. While these shoes did not work for me, they are very well made and will work for others.

These shoes are much cuter on than in the pictures! For me, the arch support was too far towards the heel (like the insert came from a child’s shoe – it was weird!) which made them very uncomfortable for a flat-footer. Also, these do not have the cushy feeling that the lower (and admittedly less stylish) SAS mocs do.

These are overall pretty comfortable to work in, but I did work 15 hours last week and they felt horrible by the end of the day. 8-10 hours they are very good. The material on them doesn’t seem to give like I thought they would. The grey soles look nice with the black. I’m 36 and get a lot of “my grandma has those shoes!” Comments. I would like if I could change the insoles.

I’m very upset because I really wanted them to fit. The double wide is so narrow. I only buy this company because my feet don’t fit onto regular shoes. They can’t suddenly make them all narrow.

I have been buying shoes from SAS since 1978. Would not wear anything else to work. I just wish that they were usps approved.

They are comfortable to wear. They are my truck shoes. They have good arch support.

Have these in a 9N. I agree with another poster who said they’re cuter in person. I think so, too! They definitely have a bit of a grandma look to them, but there’s also something about them that strikes me as adorable.
I love the arch support in these, but the insole offers zero cushion. I’m not sure I could wear them all day for an on-my-feet job. When I do wear them, I also have to wear little silicone Morton’s neuroma pads to cushion the balls of my feet. I suspect that part of the problem is the heel height. The lower-heeled Siesta might be more comfortable and put less pressure on the ball of the foot.
No removable insole.

Comfortable for high instep and wide feet, with large toe box. So comfortable I overlook the old lady look. They are fantastic!

I am so sad you have retired all the fun colors in this shoe, please consider bringing some back!!! I am 30 and have psoriatic arthritis; these shoes are the best shoes I’ve ever found for knee, hip and ankle joint pain without making me feel twice my age. I recommend them to everyone.
This is the second pair I bought, I also had them in teal and pink, and I’m searching for more anywhere I can find them (un-used). I’d be a “for life” buyer if you brought them back 🙂

I’ve been wearing SAS shoes for about 30 years. People make fun of me: “Why do you always wear the same shoes, same style?” Because I love them! Problem is, with age, my feet have changed and I didn’t take that into account. I just need to change the size! Here is to another 30!
Health C –
I have worn this shoe style SAS.shoe, off and on for over 40 years It was my everyday work shoe an due to my very flat feet it is the most comfortable..
The M –
My mother has worn this style for decades.

SAS shoes always have been and still are the most comfortable shoes and so well made. The soles are very nicely shock absorbing and make each step a joy on the joints. I’ve been wearing this style since the late 70’s, early 1980’s (so long I forget!) and I’m always pleased with the comfort. Walk all day in these without any joint pain. Keep up the great work SAS, especially in the shock absorbing components!!

Love this shoe and that it is not flat
Jaybee –
I love these shoes. I find that the double wide is a bit narrower and smaller then some of the other styles? I wear 4’s in you sandals, but none of your lace up, etc., shoes come in 4. Because I feet are wide, I order 5’s WW in the bounce, which runs smaller which for me is great. I do wish you would offer the smaller sizes in the colors you offer in the larger sizes.
Blessed W –
I have flat feet. These shoes are comfortable. The amount of heel is perfect!
Stephanie –
These look like nun’s shoes, but they are so comfortable. I walk a lot, and need a bit of a heel to be comfortable. Sneakers are too flat for me, but these are perfect. I don’t normally wear a wide, but I’m glad I ordered it in this style as recommended.

I was able to Purchase my Very First Pair Of SAS Bounce from an Online Resale site!!!!!! They Are Brand New! I Usually wear a Size 11 in Women’s but these Are A Bit Snug At Size 10.5..As Long Ad I can Fit My Feet Into Them And Walk In Them, I am Good To Go!!!! I remember as a little boy, my family would go out to see my Grandparents and I remember that my Grandma would always wear these shoes!!!!! I was probably about 5 or 6 when I started to notice that. I would always plays with toys on their carpeted living room floor. Anytime my Grandma would walk past, I would get my head down close to the carpet and watch her step on it and sink into it!!! Fast Forward About 3 or 4 years and I had another encounter with SAS Bounce!!! This Time it was a waitress at a local Pizza Hut!!!! I was with my family and we were seated in a booth.we ordered the food and was eating it when I noticed the waitress wearing those Hot Shoes!!!! So I decided to sneak a few pieces of sausage off my plate and onto the carpet next to our booth. I was hoping to see her Step On And Smash the Sausages!!! Well, needless to say, she Didn’t Let Me Down!!! She came walking past our booth from left to right and Stepped Right On A Sausage With Her Right Heel!!!! She Kept Right On Walking!!!! There Was Nothing Left Except a Perfect Wet Spot on the Carpet! That’s When I Realized That It Stuck To Her Sole and She Never Even Knew It or Felt It Under Her!!!! And Then I saw her about 20 years later working at another place and came up to her and told her how I remembered her Because of the Shoes she wore and showed her a photo on my phone but didn’t tell her about the Crushing Experience. And Now I Have My Own Pair And Hope To Show Her!!!

Feels comfortable. I wore this when I had to be on my feet for most of the day. This shoe also provides great arch support for my plantar fasciitis.
Bonbon –
I wore the ,Bounce shoes for years working as a Hairdresser, never had any problems with my legs or feet, best shoes ever made……………
Jeannie –
I like the comfort of this shoe, size 5. I like the high arch. The heel slips a little, not too bad. I’m proud that it is made in the USA. I’ve worn it only twice since I recently got it and I hope the sole will last a long time. I wish it would also come in other colors, beige or taupe.
