Holly C –
I have a hard time finding Velcro straps that are long enough and find these are not. Disappointed since the price was not cheap!

I have many foot problems and was about ready to give up on my feet and submit to surgery. Until I bought these shoes. They are so comfortable and fit my sore toes so well. I love these sandals! My new favorite shoes of all time!

I was sooooooo disappointed….they were very heavy and clunky looking….the narrow width was at least a medium….not narrow as I had expected…..I wear only SAS shoes so hoped this would be great…..sorry had to return.

Nice shoes with good support. Unfortunately I had to send them back because the heel strap hit my foot too high, which was uncomfortable.
Virginia –
Very sturdy sandal. One review called them “clunky” I think sturdy is a better description and Zappos says they are a unisex sandal. The strap padding makes it very comfortable. They felt great the first time I put them on. I don’t think they will need a breaking in period. There is enough coverage to make them wearable until late fall in this part of the country. I can tell they are going be good for walking or being on your feet a lot. Good choice for the hard to find WW size folks that want comfort.

I pretty much only wear SAS shoes, and have many pairs. I am a 7 1/2 medium. No matter how I adjusted the straps on these I could not get a comfortable fit. I would prefer to try them on, in the store. This way I know for sure that they fit comfortabley.

These shoes are very comfortable. They support my whole foot and are soft for walking. Great shoe.

I have been wearing SAS sandals for many years. Still the best quality shoes I’ve ever found. That said these are not perfect as far as fit but they do keep getting more comfortable as my foot seems to mold to the sole. The sole is soft with very good arch support. The style is fine they look like an outdoor rugged sandal. The one thing I would say is that the material around the toe and ankle area could be softer. Since that part isn’t leather it needs to be soft like the all leather sandals.

I bought this shoe as a replacement for my last pair of SAS shoes that finally wore out after years of good service. These new shoes are so comfy! I need a good, solid, stabilizing shoe and this is it. It’s soft yet rock solid and sturdy. It hugs my foot so I feel very secure yet my feet are open to the air and free to wiggle. Due to neuropathy I can’t stand a closed toe shoe, due to diabetes I need a protective shoe and this one is perfect for both issues.

I had high hopes for these, due to SAS’s reputation and the reviews. However, for me there was too much pressure on the forefoot. The footbed was wonderful but they were actually painful for me. Too bad.

Here’s the info that I always look for when I buy shoes, but never find: The width of these sandals in double wide (WW) is just under 4.5 inches. That’s important to me b/c I’ve always had really wide feet (i.e., the reason I became a loyal SAS customer). SAS double wide has always been 4 inches (at least in the sandals). But, over the last few years (guess I’m getting old!), my wide feet became a tad wider! And, even my beloved SAS Duos weren’t as good as they had been. I started looking at SAS triple wide shoes, but no sandals. When I saw the Embark, I decided to give it a try even though WW was as good as I could get. And, WOW, was I surprised to find they are even wider than the standard WW. I can once again enjoy a well made (beautifully styled) sandal, with good support, and with that wonderfully cushioned SAS sole that makes walking so comfortable! If you need a sandal wider than WW, get these!! Thank you, SAS. And, thank you, Zappos for carrying these.

I have to say that the widths are wider than normal on this shoe, AA fit like a A. Ankle strap is so wide that it didn’t conform to my foot and top strap across instep was two long. Length of shoe was perfect for size 10. Arch support was average and was expecting it to be like other styles that I have bought before in tie shoes.
Marie –
I love these sandals. They have the padding I’ve been looking for. They are sturdy, ruggedly attractive. I expect they will last a good long time. SAS makes quality shoes.

I have worn SAS sandals for years. This time I decided to try a different style. Unfortunately, this style does not have the same flexible, soft sole that the ones I normally purchase have. This style is stiff and uncomfortable.
Granet –
The toe on this sandal is too flat and causes my foot to slide out the front opening. I have wide feet and have bought medium SAS in the past because “SAS shoes run wide”. This one does not. I love the look and color of the Duo Antique Tan sandal. The problem is the heel is higher than the toe and there is no tip-up at the toe to keep the foot from going through the front. Design flaw.

I’m an elderly woman who needs good support when I’m walking around on rough ground. These sandals give me that and still look great.
Flatfoot –
Perfect for narrow feet. Comfortable &
looks good.
Louie’s M –
Fits great. The Velcro straps adjust to my narrow heels. Very comfortable for walking.

I have horrid feet and have spent thousands trying to find shoes I can wear for more than a minute. Every brand from Sketchers to Finn Comfort, ASICS to New Balance. Wore SAS many years ago when the styles were very limited so decided to try again. These sandals are very comfy. The right amount of soft vs firm. The straps hit in the right places so no blisters or rubbing. There are padded pieces behind the back strap too. Going to try some other styles next.
Cathi –
These are the comfiest, most supportive sandals I’ve ever had. I have a wide foot, failed bunion surgery and just overall foot difficulties. This will be my second pair so I must love them! Pricey? Yes, but if you have bad feet and can afford them, you won’t be sorry.
The only thing I don’t like is the limited color choices. Taupe is the only one I can stand. The others just scream ugly, IMO.
Lydia –
I was ecstatic to find good, sturdy, attractive sandals in a narrow size. I ordered both an 8 1/2 N and a 9N, because Zappos recommended 8 1/2, but I sometimes find 9’s to fit better. That was the case with these, so I am returning the smaller pair.
I immediately wore them for 2 days straight. At first they felt quite comfortable and supportive, but on the second day, I had to put moleskin patches on my toes because the seams were rubbing them and I was afraid I would get blisters. Perhaps I will get them “broken in” and be able to enjoy them. They are quite supportive and I love the color.

I rediscovered SAS Shoes and have finally found sandals that I can wear all day without crippling me. 20 years ago I fell off a 10′ ladder and broke my talus bone in my right ankle. The doctor performed an athrodesis to correct my foot from supinating, but he failed to correct the direction of my foot which veers to the right and lacks an arch. Needless to say, I have purchased thousands of dollars worth of shoes that just sit in my closet or have been donated to charity. After my accident, I purchased a pair of SAS sandals and was able to walk without pain. I had forgotten all about SAS and discovered a store in McKinney, TX. Wells, I found my perfect sandal againthe Embark in taupea strapping sandal that I can adjust throughout the day. I purchased the 8 1/2 M, but I returned them for the 8 1/2 W. A little pricey, but well worth it. I will be back to purchase another color. I absolutely love them Plus, they’re really cute BTW, the sales assistants at the McKinney, TX, store were extremely patient me while I tried on at least 12 different styles.

Minimal wear-in time! These are great for ankle support.

I just bought my 6th pair of Embark sandals. They are exceptionally comfortable for walking and look great with casual shorts, pants and dresses.

My friend loves the shoes especially the quality of them.
