Judith –
I have bunions so I often will purchase wide shoes for comfort. These are wide across my foot, but they continue to widen toward the toes (like a duck’s foot), not a good look; I’m returning them
Peg –
These are nice looking sandals, but I found the bottom of the sole to be slippery. Not safe for me.
I L –
I bought these last summer (from Zappos), and they are heaven! Fit, quality and style are fantastic. The cost is a bit high, but you get what you pay for. I am going to buy one more in another color.

I just ordered a new pair of the Huggy after having worn this model for about 8 years. It is a comfortable and supportive sandal for those of us who have foot problems and need to have a secure fit and multiple adjustments. I thought when I first saw it that it looked much too “orthopedic,” but discovered that I got several compliments on the style! It is well worth trying for anyone who, like me, has arthritis or other foot issues, as it comes in a variety of widths as well has having three interworking Velcro straps that allow a maximum personal fit. It’s a very comfortable and safe walking sandal.
*I did find the sole slippery at first, as another reviewer mentioned, but walking on concrete surfaces, with a little deliberate scuffing, solved the problem.

These are great sandals. The foot beds are very cushy (ahhh!) and sculpted to fit the foot bottom (even toes) and the arch support is substantial, in my opinion. They are very durable and I also really like the look. I even wear them to work (business casual setting) with pants (cropped or long) as well as with a long dress. If you have a standing desk, I think you will really enjoy standing in these due to the foot bed and adjustability of the straps. In addition to the above, the strap configuration hides my bunions rather well. I now own three pairs (different colors) as I tend to live in them when the temperature allows. Crazy good sandals in my opinion.

I LOVE this SAS Sandal! It is VERY COMFORTABLE! This is what I expect from SAS. THE STRAPS soft leather and ARE VELCRO ADJUSTABLE. THIS is great! This is really a CASUAL SANDLE FOR JEANS, shorts, etc. The styling is NOT FOR DRESS. JUST CASUAL. I RECOMMEND IT

Great casual sandal. Extremely comfy which is most important to me! Velcro straps Make it easy to adjust each time. I highly recommend this a.m.

I just got these great sandals. I’m prepared to wear them ALL SUMMER. But now it’s just a wee too cold t wear. But I tried them on and walked around the house the first week I got them. FIRSTLY/ the are so comfortable! All the Velcro straps are a nice leather that Does not rub your skin ( or give you blisters) you when walking/wearing! Bear feet should be fine walking in these all day. The arc support seem really good. I think if you want comfort this a great buy!

I wore these shoes all day, & they were so comfortable. No blisters, tender areas on my foot, which is something that I always have a problem with.

Yay!! It is SO hard for me to find comfortable shoes/sandals, with my extra-wide feet, bunions, and arthritis, but these produced a relieved “Aahhhh…” right out of the box. I’ve never ordered SAS shoes before, and I was unsure if they would be wide enough, as their Double-wide width is supposedly a D (not an EE, which is what I’m used to). These, however, are truly a wide shoe, right down to the sole, which means that my foot isn’t overlapping over the base of the shoe. So far, they feel lovely and cushioned, with good arch support. I will definitely be buying more of these—I am delighted!

I purchased these at my local dept. store but wanted to write a review so maybe people with my foot issues could get an idea. I take a 10 or 10.5 wide to double wide. Not much in way of choices,so I bought these, even thought I thought they were ugly on my foot. Comfort comes first. I’m diabetic so I have some foot issues. I need secure fitting shoes that allow me to walk stable. Very low heel.
These sandals seemed ok in the beginning, but I was getting back aches due to them. The sole is very heavy. I also fell because they are so clunky, heavy & the heel is apparently too high for me. I’ve never fallen before wearing sandals. After a while it felt like I had bricks strapped to my feet. So I wore these for 3 weeks, & after I fell, I then gave them to Good Will. Waste of money.

These are the “ugliest” sandals I have ever owned. I bought them thinking of the long days antiquing and the hours of walking I intended to do this summer. A good pedicure does wonders for improving the look of these sandals on your feet, but nothing can improve on the comfort… (well, maybe if the top strap weren’t double so the top of my foot wouldn’t get so hot, that could be an improvement). I’ve been wearing these all summer and truly believe they are worth every cent I paid for them. They feel like shock absorbers, my back appreciated the support and I would highly recommend them for anyone whose feet swell in the afternoon. You can adjust the straps and keep moving. Love these.

Love this shoe. I wear 10ww and I have left foot pains combined with my wide duck feet. Immediately out of the box I felt comfort and relief!! I have worn these to work all summer and I couldn’t be happier. Worth every cent in my opinion. Having a cute pedicure does make the shoe look alittle more stylish.

This is a great, comfortable sandal for all day use. I bought the sandal in two colors and wear both a lot. I recommend these for anyone who needs an adjustable area around the toes. They offer good support as well as comfort.
DeBlou –
I typically wear 9.5 to 10 M in anything from sandals to boots. In the SAS Huggy Sandal, I wear 9.5M. I am back to order my 3rd pair. I wear these sandals as a primary ‘go-to’ in all months except winter, and typically around 3 years out of a pair. The black ones are my favorite, but I also have the caramel/tan ones too. This time, the elastic at the buckle gave out – but in looking them over, there was significant wear on the sole too. It is time. I find these sandals to be one of the most comfortable I’ve ever worn, and they go with most of my casual wardrobe. I find the over-all support, arch-support, balance and comfort to be excellent. I can be out shopping and running errands in these all day and have no foot fatigue. I highly recommend these sandals. Another good point that I almost forgot to make is that the straps are adjustable on all the major areas of the foot, so there is no reason to not be able to achieve a great fit.

These are hands-down the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever had. This is my second pair – I wore out the first. Over the summer, I used these to sit at my desk at work, walk the dog on sidewalks and streets, and hike on gravel and dirt trails. I’ve put a lot of miles on these shoes.
I finally replaced them because A) the tread was wearing off, and 2) the soft lining/upper sole had worn through and become rough. My old pair will now be relegated to dog parks and country hikes and other wet/dirty activities.
These are nice enough for me to wear to work (in a fairly casual office) – they don’t look like beach wear. When they get dirty, they are a breeze to clean with soap and water and a sponge. I use Nikwax sandal wash every week or two to keep them clean and keep odors at bay (no socks + hot, humid weather = stank). The leather stiffens after washing, but softens again pretty quickly once I put them back on.
The sole is firm, but not hard. I find it gives enough cushion to stand in comfortably, and enough firmness to provide support for long walks. I am very heavy, so thin or soft cushion doesn’t work for me. This sole seems to hold up well.
The wide elastic over the arch holds with no trouble, and all the straps are easy to adjust to get a good fit. There’s a bit of elastic under the buckle at the heel, so you can put them on and off without unfastening, if you don’t wear them tight.

I wear 10 to 10.5 dye to one foot a tad longer. I ordered a 10.5WW first, but it was really too wide. Reordered 10.5 W and it fits great. Maybe could have gone to a 10, but it has just enough shoe so my heal or toes don’t go over the edge. As others have mentioned, this shoes has incredibly soft leather. The footbed is cushioned without feeling like you are walking on marshmallows. No it’s not the most stylish and a bit pricey, but the straps are streamlined and it is the most comfortable shoe I own. It is a casual shoe. Maybe with jeans to a football game would work when you don’t want to wear tennis shoes. Once you put this shoe on, you will not want to return it (other than finding the right size). It “fixes” my feet after a long day.
I wear 20.5 W in New Balance
10 W in Rockport Cobb Hill
42 Dansko
42 Finn Comfort
Hope this helps! ??

OMG I guess I am that old woman!!! Okay, these look better on than in the pictures…I hope! But even if they look like an old woman…I don’t care….they are so very comfortable!
CDWP –
I have purchased 7 pairs so far, my last 2 pair from Zappos. Obviously, the shoe is super comfortable. I’m from Los Angeles and wore the shoes with socks in the winter and without socks in the summer. I’m ten years older and still purchasing SAS Huggy’s. The Relaxed are good, but I had surgery on my fifth toe, and do not want a metal buckle-strap across my foot.
These shoes made it through the bitter winter of North Carolina (our new state of 10 years), with thicker socks or and “boot” for my surgical foot. Now my surgery is over and I am recovered in better shape than ever and online to buy White and Tan Huggies.
I own two pair of black, one nude suede (which stretches some).
So happy my foot surgery was a success and I might just have surgery on my right foot. I’m 62 and the doctor surgically fixed my fifth toe plus added natural padding on the ball of my foot.
Happy feet customer

I’ve had SAS before and can confirm the footbed material is “not” man made. They might be a little warm but they don’t get stinky. Also sales person in SAS store told me footbed was indeed a natural suede. These shoes are good looking and maybe on the sporty side. I consistently wear a 9 in open shoes, these are 9 and fit perfectly. No friction from straps. Comfy right out of box. Really appreciate the wide toe area, and that’s a problem for me 98% of the time. Will be wearing these in cooler weather with leggings or stretchy capris and with shorts in summer. I always add a little stick on arch support as I have very high arches.

Finally, I have found some shoes other than Brooks Addiction Walkers that I can wear! I have very troubled feet (bunions, hammertoes, arthritis) and have tried so many shoes over the years that I’m surprised that Zappos will still ship to me. Thank you, Zappos, I am forever in your debt.
These shoes are soft leather on the inside and outside with no place to rub and are cushioned with memory foam on a leather bed. Because of the way it wraps the feet, you get a custom fit. I’ve never worn SAS shoes until before, but now I’m a true believer in their quality and comfort!

This is my second identical pair of black Huggy sandals. In spite of the high price, I bought my first pair 11 years ago at a store that sold SAS shoes; and I have absolutely worn them out. I looked for something less expensive as a replacement, but decided the quality and comfort were worth the price. You get what you pay for! They are perfect for extended walking on vacations. I usually wear a medium shoe width, but these are so adjustable that the 7 1/2 narrow worked for me.
Sarah –
This is my third pair of SAS and I actually bought these ones to wear with my wedding dress! They’re not exactly your typical wedding shoe…but they will be my “something blue!” I can’t say enough nice things about SAS. As a young person with chronic pain they’ve become my go-to…and you know what, they have the shock absorption and all-day comfort of a sneaker. I will say I recommend going with the Wide size if you are on the cusp…I usually wear a regular 9 but I need the wide in SAS.
