Where have all the “Shoe Clouds” been all my life.
My old standby New Balance tennis shoe style was discontinued and replaced by a slightly different looking style and number change). he most recent version was a disaster.
So I went looking for a satisfactory replacement. I chose three to try out. The SAS Journey was far and away the most comfortable, supportive and well fitting tennis shoe I have ever worn. The moment I slid my feet into my SAS Journey’s, I knew that was the one of the three I was keeping.
It was like walking on clouds. Or as I would assume that walking on clouds would feel like.
I just bought a second pair in black and another one in white to make sure I have “cloud walkers ” on my feet for the foreseeable future.
Thanks San Antonio Shoes for an awesome sneaker.

SAS makes a well constructed shoe and because I (the wife) suggested my husband try a pair, he tried the SAS Journey to compare it to New Balance that he ordered for himself. He said this SAS fit is fine except that his foot sits deeply in the heel ‘box’ and the shoe rubs the edge of his ankle. Also, he doesn’t feel the arch support is sufficient. Therefore as to comfort he has to downrate it to 2 stars.

Finally, a true 13.5 shoe. Immediately felt the comfort and quality of this shoe. Understand I am flat footed and proper fitting shoes have always been a problem given I wear a true 13.5. No more “Let’s buy a pair of 13 extra wide in front of the Rat’s Motel at high noon in Cabazon, Calif to insure fit.” SAS has nailed it. Thanks SAS.

My wife has told me for years that I should try SAS. I was wedded to New Balance, but they changed so finally tried SAS. My response was, “Why did I wait so long?” I first tried the mesh Journey. They were wonderful so I added a black leather pair. Do I need to say more? I think not! I love them!

Went from a Brooks Addiction Walker to this shoe. Neither shoe is “stylish” although the SAS Journey is slightly better looking. I have had a terrible time finding a narrow shoe on the Internet (I am a AA or even a AAA width in some shoes). Seems like manufacturers are cutting back on sizes and ‘B’ is the new ‘AA.’ The Brooks shoe fit fine but the Journey fits even better in their “Slim” size. Very true to size and almost no one else carries size 12.5. Appears well made but is overpriced. No discount at all buying from Zappos which makes me wonder if there isn’t some kind of price fixing going on.

Being that I wear a size 14 narrow shoe I have a hard time finding shoes that fit well. I’ve had problems with ingrown toenails, so the toe area can’t be too small. I’ve also had issues with rubbing through the fabric lining in the heel area on several other brands of athletic shoes after just 3-4 months of moderate use. I’ve worn SAS TimeOuts as a work shoe for years and enjoyed the fit and comfort. I commonly get 2-3 years out of a pair of them, so I decided to give these a shot.
First up, the fit is awesome. Snug enough to feel supported, but not cramped in the toe area. I like the eyelet lace system which allows for even tension across the top of my foot. There is A LOT of cushion in the heel area, almost too much (if that’s possible) although I’m guessing that will compress down a bit with wear. Just feels a bit unstable when I’m doing balance exercises at the gym. Overall the fit and comfort of this shoe is first rate. Construction seems solid, so I’m hoping I’ll get the same kind of life out of them as I do from the TimeOuts.

Probably the best athletic sneaker I ever bought, although in my opinion slightly overpriced. I never see these SAS black sneakers on sale. Does that mean there is price fixing ? Just curious.

2 pair in less than 2 years. Fit great, but both pair failed when the leather uppers separated from the sole on the outside edge. Now, they are expensive yard shoes,, comfortable yard shoes,,, but yard shoes.

These shoes fit me just right after years and years of wearing shoes that were to small or to big size 13.5 appears to be a foreign concept thanks SAS you have a new customer. All you other shoes company need to get on board

Fits well. Had to experiment a bit to find the correct size and width combination. I know from experience SAS shoes are well made and reasonably attractive for a comfortable shoe. I use custom orthotics.

I only reason why I didn’t give a 5-star rating is for the worthless shoelaces of every pair of SAS shoes that I have been buying for the last 10 years. The shoe is outstanding footwear on the market but, the shoelaces are lousy. All my SAS shoes come untied often and I get really disturbed when I have to constantly tie my shoes 4 or 5 times in a 3-mile walk. Every time I get a pair of SAS shoes, the first thing I do is change the shoelaces over to Lock Laces.

I returned this pair of shoes for various reasons. most importantly the right shoe was impacting the heel and thus the sock was constantly retreating into the shoe. I have purchased other sas shoes with no complaints. Maybe just a lapse in quality control…. wont scare me away.

These are well made shoes. The shoe was too deep for my feet (I suppose they would be great with custom orthotics).

I’m a tall woman with big feet, so I wear the men’s sizes for athletic shoes. These fit the same as the Venture, which I also have. I chose these because they have the same structure and thick cushioned sole as the Venture, but with a black sole– easier to keep clean and more subtle than the white sole. Good quality pebbled leather, nice wide toe box, room for a gentle arch cushion under the removable insole. Quality all the way through, like the other SAS shoes I’ve owned.

Quality material and construction. Not a fan of the D-ring on the shoestrings; however, an extra set of shoestrings came with the shoes. Width is definitely wider than on most shoes. I wear a B width and the SAS B width is definitely wider than normal.

Very well made. Comes in a size 12.5 length, a rare, good thing. However it didn’t fit my low volume feet, which are thin for their width. I tried a Narrow (C) width, which was fine on width but had way too much extra leather around from instep forward. Then I tried a Slim (B) width and found it very tight and restrictive. Sigh! Try Rockport World Tour Classic for a good fit for low volume feet.

Great fit . Plenty of toe room as compared to other shoes.has plenty of room for plantar fasciitis inserts without cramping toe room.will but a second pair as soon as stock comes in. All around great shoe no matter what the price.

I have a very narrow feet. After trying 3 New Balance shoes, these fit very good from the beginning. I had a little more room in front of the toes than usual. But width and toe height were perfect with orthotics in.

First off, stitching in the top of the vamp of the right shoe came loose and was dangling within two days of wearing the shoes and it bothers me all the time because I notice everything. Should have been factory seconds. Secondly, shoe is not so good if you use custom or cushioned insoles. The arch on this shoe was a bit lacking for me and wether I use my usual spenco insoles or the Step Plus insoles which I bought from SAS -_- , there is not enough room in the shoes and my toes are irritated against the top of the shoe. I had a perfect fit when I bought them but with ” after market” insoles they become too small. My other SAS shoes are not like that. If I had to buy them again I would order in double wide instead of just wide. The good part is that the sole of the shoe is impressive and I feel much positive return from them when walking which is saying a lot as I weigh over 300lbs and stand 6’5″. If SAS wants to send me a replacement pair in 15w that may just fit the bill for me, but I feel like these shoes may have been a mistake as I cannot use them for work as I intended without being able to fit my arch insoles and my feet in at the same time. Would be 3.5 stars but I don’t have that option.

Every once in a while you’re completely satisfied with a product. This is one of those times. I will definitely be purchasing from this company again.
Beetlejuice –
The San Antonio Shoemakers is one wonderful company. Quite possibly the only company that produces narrow shoes for men in the United States. The fit is wonderful and the craftsmanship is second to none.

I like the Journeys with the Tri Pad
But I don’t like the Journeys II which does not have the Tri Pad
So could you please add The Tri Pad to your Journey II
I’m talking about the Journeys with the leather and not the journeys that are made of mesh
