Anna –
I would call myself a “Shoe Snob”. I’ve never cared much about being “stylish” or “fashionable”. I just go for what I like. I have always sought out high-quality footwear. Nowadays, as my feet have aged (and am heading a bit past “middle-aged” at this point), I have been needing more comfort and support in my footwear as well. I love the strapping configuration on the Shelly style sandal. I love that the SAS brand is made in the U.S.A. ! I love that this brand is so accommodating and catering to such a wide variety of foot-sizes! The quality is great overall, the leather is super soft. I am almost always a 9.5 wide (C-D width). I almost never fit into most other brands due to the fact that they are a B-width and many are a *narrow* “B” at that! I discovered SAS in a search on Zappos for “wide-width” sandals after being tired of trying brand after brand of the more “popular” and expensive ($100 +) brands (and styles) only to find, yet again, that they were too narrow for my feet. The “Shelly” sandal was the first one I tried in the SAS brand. The 9.5 fit my foot with about a 1/4 inch beyond my toes (which I wanted) and about an 1/8 inch of space behind my heel (which is also good). I never want my toes and heels right up to the edge of a sandal! I quickly discovered, however, that SAS shoes/sandals run much more realistic when it comes to width sizing. I ordered the “wide” in this sandal and it was TOO wide! I fit perfectly into their “medium” width (which is really a “C” – width). For those of you having a struggle with finding the proper width in SAS footwear, keep in mind that their widths are wider than most other brands. They cover a broader spectrum of foot widths, with many styles coming in FIVE different widths! For example, look at the “SAS Nudu” sandal and click on their width drop-down menu. The width called “Slim” is more comparable to what other brands call “Narrow”. Their “Narrow” width is more like a “B” (what other brands call “medium”) and their “Medium” is about a “C” width (what other brands would call “Wide”).
Back to the “Shelly” …it is a quality, well-built, lightweight sandal. There is a firm, springy, soft-suede-covered foot bed on this one. It’s a great sandal, however, I was unsure about it for my particular feet. The arch support (at least on this style) was “moderate” as far as what my feet need. I think if the arch had been a little stronger, more pronounced, I would have kept it. I am on my way to trying out a couple of other styles in the SAS brand. Hope this is a helpful review !

I have bunions and problem feet and can no longer wear regular thong sandals. These are so comfortable and support my feet in a way that alleviates the pain.

This sandal is super comfortable! The sole is outstanding! The toe grip is perfect and the ar.ch band is in just the right place….and they are cute too! I have wide feet and these were perfect.

These sandals are extremely comfortable. However, they run on the big side. I am still debating whether or not to exchange these sandals for a smaller size.

These shoes are great. I have a problem with my feet hurting. I purchased these and could wear them the day they arrived with NO problems. Arch is great and I think they look nice. They cost more than I want to pay for sandals but they are worth every penny.

Heavenly.
From the first time I slipped these on my feet, I knew these were THE most comfortable sandals I have ever owned. After searching two years to replace my beloved ten-year old Clarks Artisan sandals and finding nothing to replace them, I decided to try these. Are these a little pricey? Yes, but well worth every penny. (And since they are handmade in the USA, they are thrice worth the price.) I stand on my feet all day teaching, and I need comfortable shoes…and comfort these do deliver. The toe strap raised some concern, but my fears were soon allayed. These sandals are sumptuously comfy and cute to boot. I will definitely buy another pair as I am sure these sandals will last years.

Super comfortable, feels like you’re walking on a cloud. I have bad knees with little to know cartilage left on both, these shoes provide excellent shock absorbing for uneven terrain.

LOVE!! I ordered these on the big size, like I usually do with sandals. I ended up exchanging for the size I should wear. A lot of that is thanks to the combination of the generous foot bed and the adjustable straps. The whole foot bed is soft and cushy. no downside that I can see!
Karen –
Loved the look of these shoes but they didn’t fit my feet at all. Foot bed too short on both 6.5 & 7. Space between foot bed and strap made my feet feel squashed.

This sandal was really cute and kind of minimalistic. I needed a new pair so I bought these. What a disappointment. These are SO wide that thy seriously looked like clown shoes on. They were comfortable but…what’s up with the width? I checked the box and the sandal and everything was correct. I have an absolutely medium foot. In every shoe/sandal/boot ever made I think. Even with the adjustable buckles, the whole sandal stuck out all around my foot. It was actually kind of funny. I can laugh about because Zappos is so AMAZING about making their returns so easy. So, back these clown shoes go!

I love these shoes! They go with everything and are easy to slip on and off.

Well, drat. Several reviewers noted that they were concerned about the strap that circles the toe, but it turned out not to be a problem. So I tamped down my own concern and ordered these sandals. I really wanted a slip-on sandal with slimmer straps instead of that big old Birkenstock style! Thanks to Zappos, they arrived right away. I did love the look — and they were wide enough and long enough — but that toe strap really bothered me. So back they went. Ah well.

I wear a 4E width sized shoe and this shoe actually fit me in the wide width. I ordered a different brand shoe at the same time and decided to keep the other shoe because it wasn’t as casual. I will order this shoe in a different color at another time.

Love these sandals! Great comfort right out of the box. Both straps are adjustable for the perfect fit. Moderate arch support, the tops are molded & there is a nice amount of cushion for a comfortable step. No break in time needed. Put them on & start your day. They feel like a well broken-in pair of favorite shoes. Loved them so much, I bought a second pair…

I usually wear an 8 in most shoes. The 8 in SAS was too big. I purchased a 7.5 Wide and they fit perfectly. I purchased this sandal in brown last year and wore it almost every day. It still looks wonderful. I just purchased white and it’s adorable. Now if the Coronavirus would just go away so I could get a pedicure, all would be well. Stay safe everyone. No judgement on non-pedi’ed toes.
I can not wear Birkenstock, they are not wide enough for me. They hurt. I love Mephisto and I have several pairs but they are pretty expensive. I also love Earth, L’Artiste and Pikolino.

very comfortable, and the look is better than I expected. I was a little worried that the straps around the big toe might cause discomfort, but that has not been the case. These definitely exceeded my expectations and are super comfortable to walk in and wear all day.
Sue –
Fit exactly like the old pair I purchased a few years ago…I’ve worn them so much I could barely read the brand and size to order these! They’re my go to sandals when going the store or anywhere that I’ll be on my feet a lot…great for all day wear, and go with everything!

I have never spend $173 in a pair of sandals but, I have to say these purchase was worth it. The sandals feel great and they have great support I have wide feet so it’s imperative to have good support. I have to keep you updated I will edit this review in the future to let you know how these sandals do next summer.

Really like these! From what I can tell they are the exact same shoe as the Jett (which I also own) except without the little chiclet metallic accents. I now have these in two colors. This style took some adjusting of the straps to find the right fit and I almost sent them back before I got them adjusted right. Now they are my go-to sandal. I have passed on replacing other sandal styles as they wear out because I found myself always going to these. The footbed is fairly firm but a bit spongy. Comfortable for all-day, regular wear. Fit me better than other SAS styles that I have tried.
Kitty –
Love this shoe. I would like to have a narrow width option, though.

Don’t get them! I have average width feet and the straps stretch out terribly! I went another notch up to tighten. Couple weeks later I had to do so again. They become loose where you are sliding side to side and out of them! I feel like I’m gonna break my ankle. So disappointed. I’m on my last hole to tighten the straps and soon I won’t wear be able to wear at all!

Loved these shoes and so wide! My big toe was so tight in them though that I could not wear them properly!

A very comfortable sandal. The footbed is a tad wide. The only thing I would change if I could is the placement of the big toe strap. I don’t have long toes (which would look better in this sandal as long as one has an average to wide foot) but they aren’t short either. Because of the way they are made, my size 9 foot very nearly hangs off the sandal in the back. I tried to upload pictures from my iPhone but apparently it is the wrong format.

Very comfortable! Perfect for walking with shorts, pants or summer dress. Just what I was looking for!
