I sought a shoe to help me relieve pain from heel spurs and plantar facetious. My local shoe vendor told me these shoes were the best, so even though I didn’t love the style, I agreed to try them on. The moment – and I mean the literal moment – I put these on and stood up nearly every ounce of pain I felt in my feet left. Seriously. My heels and arches were immediately better. I couldn’t believe it. I bought them on the spot. What they lack in style (for me) they more than make up for in comfort, and the style isn’t all that bad, just not my typical choice. I have pain all the time with my old shoes. I’d grimace and grunt as I stood up and hobbled around. But with these, nearly no pain whatsoever. I believe that as I wear them more I will experience less pain. Totally worth the cost.

This is the most attractive SAS shoe I have tried. The contrasting sparkly textured leather makes this shoe more playful and less heavy. The wide size is truly wide and the footbed is comfortable. I dislike the rocker sole which is unstable. While standing still, neither my toe nor my heel touches the ground. The narrow strap cuts into the top of my foot and the toebox presses into my toenails. I fit SAS sandals but not their shoes.

The shoe appears to be well made and supportive, but the sizing is off. I normally wear a 9.5W in a mary jane style shoe – purchased the 10W and it was too small, but had a lot of heel slippage. I had to return. Thank you Zappos for free shipping both ways!

I have several pairs of SAS, but the heel was uncomfortable (kind of a rocker type–maybe good for walking). For that reason I’m sending them back.

This is the most fun shoe ever! It is so cute, and fits so well, and I can wear my custom orthotics with this shoe, as it is plenty deep enough. It became my favorite shoe after one wearing! No breaking in, and the Velcro strap is so convenient. I have the black with the sparkly edge…fun, especially when you have colorful socks. I tried the black first, now I want the brown. Wish they would make them in Navy Blue and red. That would be GREAT!

I’m so frustrated with this shoe. It’s marked as narrow and fits in the toe box, but the heel slips completely off when I move my foot. I’ve had this problem with every other SAS shoe except for the Sunny, which fits perfectly. I’m a 10N

These shoes are nice and flat and extremely comfortable. They are cute enough, but not gorgeous (I go for comfort). For a while, they were the only shoes I could wear when my knee was bothering me. I love the fact that they are made in the USA!

The decorative contrast is a lovely change. Unfortunately, wide shoes are often plain. I wear an 8ww and they felt well. Although well cushioned when I changed out the footbed with a Vionic orthotic it smashed my toes too far forward so I will stick with the SAS footbed. But consider ordering a half size up if you wear an orthotic. Generally comfortable, however the low vamp on the right shoe does press into the top of my foot after a time. I hoping as shoe softens this will lessen as it is only on one foot.

I got this for my mother in law, and she loved them. I got her regular size and one smaller as I was told they run large, and she kept the smaller size. No break in needed and she was ver happy. Not the best looking shoes, but acceptable style. They reminded me of the shoes I used to wear for catholic school. I wish Zappos would carry the brown ones.

This shoe was very heavy in weight. For the price I assumed this shoe would be comparable to Ecco, Josef Seidel, Rieker, etc. I returned the shoe because of the weight.

While the shoe itself is amazingly comfortable and really helped ease the pain in my arthritic foot, the strap was a problem. It needs to have more velcro. When my foot swells due to inflammation, the strap can’t loosen sufficiently. Thus, it caused a sore. I’m going to take it to the shoe repair shop to see if they can add velcro. Seems like a simple problem for you to resolve.

After a broken foot was healed, I was asked by my doctor to wear “sturdy” shoes; this SAS shoe fit the bill!

I have wide feet, especially my toes, and this style fits so perfectly. I have plantar fasciitis, too, and the support in these shoes is ideal. I wear them as often as I possibly can. I’m getting ready to buy my third pair. They are cute but fairly neutral with pants, kinda school girly with dresses which makes a particular statement when you are 55. I think that statement is “My self esteem is so great, and i have reached a certain age when I get to wear whatever I want.”

Comfortable USA made shoe with a little bling for my problem feet, YAY. The strap isn’t very long, so I’m not sure how long it’ll hold up with the Velcro. BUT, I can slip my own orthotics in to support both metatarsals and arches. From the most part this shoe is a 5 star. The strap shortness rates 2stars for this high instep gal. Worth the money, every penny.

I have very troubled and troubling feet, neuropathy after surgeries along with other issues. I was searching a long while for a pair of brown shoes and found these on the website. What a lucky day that was! These are the most comfortable shoes in my collection. I have a pair of black maryjanes from another company that were very expensive, designed for troublesome feet and they have nowhere the same comfort. If I can swing it financially, I may have to donate them to the mission house and spring for yours in black. In future, I would buy every color you make. I don’t know what you did, but it is fabulous. Thank you a million times from a very old woman who still wants to look good in spite of foot issues.
Sharon –
Absolutely beautiful shoes, width is great for my wide foot, but ran about a half size long. They would probably work if i wore my thick running socks, but I bought them to wear with a dress. I’m returning and reordering them in a smaller size because I love these shoes!

Felt good but a little heavy so I went with another choice.
Rose –
They were nice shoes, but my feet did not stay in them
Carole –
This shoe is cut very low above the toes. As soon as I put them on it the bone and minor bunion on my right foot. I took two steps and had to take the shoes off due to the pain. I love SAS shoes, but this one is not for me. I am returning them.
CincyGal –
I had high hopes for these Mary Jane but reluctantly must return them. Loved the style and the comfort of the inner sole when just standing. But when walking my the heel slipped. The foot bed just did not seem deep enough. Also the strap was barely long enough and felt tight when I wore socks with these shoes. I wear an 8N. These felt true to size which is rare for me but the slipping of the heel was a deal breaker.

I have narrow feet and back problems. I found SAS about 2 years ago. My “go to” shoes now. Just bought the Step Out and they are so comfortable. They help the way I walk due to the slight rocker motion built in the bottom. So comfortable and doesn’t hurt my feet or back. Please make this style in a true Navy color and perhaps a wine and/or tan. I bought the black and brown and would buy other colors if available. Thank you SAS! So glad I discovered you. Also, love other styles and hope you make more “not so old lady” styles. Shoes are expensive but made well and good variety of sizes.
Jordan –
Love how these wear. I would give 5 stars, but you’re not hearing many of us that are begging for other colors…particularly navy. But also the strap doesn’t cover all of the velcro, so it picks our pants. We would love more styles as well, that are made like this shoe. Please and thank you! Quality could be better since they scratch up easily.
Flat F –
These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn! I have a very hard time finding shoes that fit and are comfortable. My feet are narrow and completely flat. My specialty shoe store, Browns Shoes, closed their doors in 2023, so finding SAS shoes in narrow has been a challenge, and buying online is risky. So, I am able to buy here, and get the same styles I bought from Brown’s shoes. This style, the way the soles are designed, allow me to be on my feet all day without pain.
The only changes I recommend- more colors!! and the Velcro catch/snag my pants.
Patty –
These have become my daily shoes. With various foot problems, and lots of shoes in my closet unable to wear, these are soo comfortable and provide support and cushioning
Kellee –
I love so many of these SAS shoes, but they are supposed to be more accommodating for arthritis, diabetes, etc. I tried about 8 different styles, in 2-3 sizes, widths, for each style, and NOT A SINGLE PAIR HAD A HIGH/WIDE ENOUGH TOE BOX. I ended up keeping one pair, simply because I thought they were going to work (they are this style, but in a different color). After wearing them for 5-6 hours, my big toe was throbbing for the rest of the day…so disappointing.
