I need a shoe that is a little firm because I pronate while I run but I also need extra cushioning because I weigh a lot. These shoes have that right blend and I can get my extra thick orthotics to fit just right, which I had problems with other brands. I would highly recommend the Guide 17 for anyone who needs a good pair of stability shoes with extra cushioning and good outsole durability.
Penster –
Best shoes ever! Great support and so comfortable! Felt like my feet were inside foam clouds! I actually bought an extra pair after wearing the first ones for two weeks. You can’t go wrong with these. Hope this exact style continues.
Owen –
Very supportive but also flexable! I have wide feet, so it was great to have a shoe that feets very well’
Lbowbowman –
I purchased the Guide 17 for a walking trip to NYC

From the moment I slipped these shoes on, I could feel the precision of their design. The fit, as promised on the website, was impeccable, molding snugly to my feet without any uncomfortable pressure points. It’s remarkable how they strike the perfect balance between support and flexibility, making them ideal not only for rigorous practice sessions but also for the intensity of race day.
Having gone through more than 20 different pairs of running shoes over the course of my career, I’ve become somewhat of a connoisseur. Yet, none have impressed me quite like these. They seem to understand the intricacies of my stride, providing just the right amount of cushioning and responsiveness with each step.
Whether I’m pounding the pavement on a long run or sprinting towards the finish line, these shoes deliver unparalleled performance. They’re not just shoes; they’re a testament to craftsmanship and innovation. If you’re serious about your running, do yourself a favor and lace up a pair of thesethey’re in a league of their own.

I have been a Saucony shoe customer for over 25 years and the Guide 17 is by far the best running shoe I have ever worn! My feet are flat and have bunions, so comfort is key. This shoe delivers on comfort and support.
Gran –
I bought these because I have regrowing bone spurs and they are very comfortable for me
Nellie –
LOVE them! Have to admit, I was concerned with stability on the higher profile sole but they feel super stable, so comfortable and cushyalmost like having a bounce in my step! Fits true to size.

While I have previously only purchased the ‘Ride’ series of your line-up, I have found that, with Guide 17’s additional cushioning, my existing insole is no longer required. It feels like I’m running on a cushion of air, whether it be sidewalk, asphalt, or dirt. Looking forward to many more months of running with these.

Let me start by saying I am not one to write reviews and if I do is to complain. These are incredible shoes! I am loving my guides 17. I’ve only had them for 2 weeks and bought them to add to my rotation but I find myself grabbing them every single time I go out for my runs, long or short. Very roomy toe box compared to other Saucony models and even other brands. I have very wide feet with an incredibly high instep and most wide models in other brands are not wide enough and still hurt my feet from every angle. Not these. I love how they feel on the road, not so much on a smooth trail surface but they’re not trail so it’s ok. However once the run transitions to road you feel the magic of these shoes, they can pick up the pace really quick! The stability is exquisite, super stable without being intrusive or aggressive, it’s almost as if you weren’t using a stability shoe at all, specially because they’re so light. I am very satisfied so far with this new iteration and we shall see how the sole fares in a few months.
Please keep making roomy shoes, and consider adding more fun colors for us wide footed people. It’s sad to only have darker boring colors, I want to be bright and seen when running.

Quite frankly the very best shoe I have ever owned. Looking to actually purchase a second pair just to rotate them and prolong the life of the shoe. I have awful plantar fasciitis and these cushioning and support of this shoe is unparalleled. I have owned Hoka, On, Boork, Diadora, Nike, and New Balance and NONE come close.

After trying Brooks GTS, ASICS Kayano 30 and these, for me, these were the clear winners. Like walking on an energetic cloud, if that makes sense. Great road feedback, but plenty of stability and cushioning. I have bad knees and one bad ankle, and so far no issues to report. Absolutely love these and highly recommend… but I would recommend also trying out a couple others as well. What works for me doesn’t necessarily mean they will for you. I’m anywhere from a 10.5-11.5 in most sneakers and went with an 11. Fit is great!

My guide 17s are soft with the perfect amount of cushioning and support. I train in them and wear them for speed runs. I recently ran the Disney ten miler and couldn’t believe how different my feet felt after that race. These shoes are the best !!
TONY407 –
Very recent purchase and totally satisfied with them! Very comfortable for everyday use and the cushioning is beyond with the platform.
JacRabbit –
I love these shoes! No more knee problems and I enjoy my aroebic workouts.
KLK –
Again, a super comfortable shoe, great for pronation of my 1 foot, Eliminating the blister and lifting of my toenail!
Rhianon B –
Great shoes! Very comfortable, I used to struggle with shin splints and these have drastically reduced them! Due to the extra cushioning I found they’re not the best for speed but they’re great for long distance running!
Sswr1544 –
Love my new Guide 17’s, bit of a change from the 15 and 16’s, but really enjoy these.
Amy –
The shoe is very stable and gives alot of support for heavy landers.
BigMama –
My favorite thing about the shoe is the wide toe box so my toes aren’t squished. They are also extremely comfy and I’m able to run long distances without my feet hurting.
Cindy –
Nice look and fit
Mark –
Long time runner with the Saucony Guide series. The 17 has that new cushiony style that is really quite comfortable on the long runs, but not so much that you lose the feel for the road. Retained is 15/16 sock-like fit of the last, which really holds to my slightly narrow feet. Really seems to shape to my foot without annoying hot spots or hard points. Definitely recommended for the distance runner that like the support / pronation control, but nothing too crazy.

Fits perfect. Super cushy!
Ken –
Perfect stability shoes. Not as bulky and heavy as the recent 2 generations of Kayanos and I can finally truly feel the guidance or stability support with the guide 17.
