I purchased a pair of Tempus about 2 weeks ago to replace my Hurricanes, after sadly learning that the Hurricane was discontinued. I wore Hurricanes since they first came out (I’ve been running for 47 years as of this fall) and the Tempus is NOT a replacement. They are comfortable to walk in, but I’m a marathoner (ran my fifth one in June) and these are awful for running. Cushion, yes, but NO shock absorption. It felt like I was running in street shoes. I had hip and knee pain within 1.5 miles, which I never had with any model of the Hurricane. If you liked Hurricanes, these will disappoint. I simply cannot describe how awful they are. Stay far away from this shoe. I am returning mine to the local store where I bought them, and will be sure to tell others to avoid them.
I’m fortunate I didn’t get injured.
Saucony, what have you done?

I bought this shoe a week ago wore it around the house and jogged a little in the house. I love the color and the style of the shoes. The fit is good. I always buy a whole size bigger than what I measure on the brannock device, and these were good. I had enough toe room and I liked how it hugged my foot. I bought these because they were ‘similar’ to the hurricane and I’m disappointed that they did not offer the support. These feel like a neutral shoe. Yes they are super soft and bouncy but the are not stable like the hurricanes were. My knees and feet started hurting immediately after walking/jogging in the house. I tried this twice two days in a row. I need support and these don’t have what I need, they are just too soft. I will be returning them unfortunately.

I switched from a Hoka Bondi to this shoe, and this shoe is SO MUCH BETTER. I don’t understand the reviews about lack of shock absorption. I’m a heavier runner and these are amazing. I’ve run faster and more efficiently than I ever have before. Today I ran 17 miles almost 30 seconds per mile faster than I did before. Get these shoes!

I recently found out that I’m a prorated runner. After days/hours of research I decides to buy a very expensive pair of tempus…what a bummer. I wish I could have returned them after my first run. I have been running in Asics for years and this was my high hopes of returning to Saucony. After reading the reviews I will agree they cup my heels too much, leaving the from of my foot floating over top of a ridge at the forefront of my foot causing major discomfort which makes me focus on moving my foot around (which I can’t because the heels are cupped to the back of the shoe). For this reason alone, I would not recommend them, but would cautiously try another pair of Saucony in the future, if the price was right next time. Also i find the shoes are wide at the front, and i have wider feet. The cushioning is great, no complaints there. I may look into getting an insert to try to lesson the ridge at the front of the shoes and salvage some use in these brand new runners. Good luck!

I was hoping the Tempus would be the perfect complement to the Speeds, with their inherent stability. Feel terrific underfoot, but I developed significant low back pain with each run, which I’ve never experienced before (43 yrs of running). I assume they just don’t work with my running mechanics.

I bought these to try after a recent injury that my running PT attributed to wearing neutral shoes and being a moderate-severe pronator. I have loved asics and wanted to stay with the brand for daily trainers but have used Saucony for racing and speedwork. I was worried about the general narrower fit of Saucony. I bought these and the asics kayano-lite. These have stolen my heart so far! My pain improved after wearing these. Unlike most support shoes, these are light and responsive which allow my muscles to recover quicker. Really looking forward to continued use and future versions! For me, they were true to size. I usually go 1/2 size up for running shoes and was able to do the same in these. the toe box Saucony!!

The shoe is striking in appearance, but my feet get hot while running. They do not support the arch of my foot as well as the Triumph either. I will use them when the weather gets cooler, but in 80 degree heat my feet are cooking.
Linda –
Love the look of these! Unfortunately the toe box isn’t deep enough – within just 15 minutes of walking around the house, my toes were crying. I like Saucony but will probably not be able to wear the brand again (after multiple foot surgeries) unless they increase the toe box depth.
Running G –
The Tempus runs about a 1/2 size shorter than the hurricane which I have worn for years. Wish I had known that!

These running shoes are great for plantar fasciitis and foot pain. They run small so size up. In shoes I’m a 9.5M so I ordered the 10.5M. It fits just right. It’s slightly bulky but the arch support is very good.

These shoes (Saucony brand) are now running a 1/2 size smaller than your normal size unless you like your toes up against the
the end of toe box. Had to return previous pair for a 1/2 size up and now their perfect. Light weight and easy to run in.

Over pronation, bunion, ankle tendonitis, – not a problem in these shoes. I need to able to walk and I can without pain in these shoes.
LC –
Very comfortable, cushioned supportive running sneaker. Runs small and I sent back and ordered a full size up and they are perfect. Great cushioning while feeling supported and solid with my steps. Not the most exciting colors but a great shoe.

Amazing how comfortable these shoes are! I have high arches and these shoes fit perfectly. Considering how they’re always changing things to “better” the shoe, I’m going to buy another pair.
Deb –
I am on my 4th pair of Tempus…I absolutely love the lightweight fit, comfort, and cushioning! The only drawback is that the sole is extremely slick in the winter snow and ice.
DB –
LOVE this shoe! I have been wearing Saucony shoes for ten years, but these have become my favorite. I was born with very flat feet and most supportive arches can be quite painful. The Tempus gives me the support I need while providing a nice cushion.

The heel of the shoe feels like it is reinforced so it is tighter in that area.
I –
I love the way the shoe has good support. The arch feels great and doesn’t get tight or fatigued too quick. The heel is hugged comfortably and over all the foot can breathe and not feel stuffy after a long run.
Bmurphy –
I bought these for running-needed a stability shoe that could still perform as I have to run sprints. These are amazing! They fit like a glove-I exchanged for wide width just to leave space for feet to swell in the heat or thick socks and they are perfect.
I would say they run small and narrow but the wide width is great. Really wish they had better colors available in wide width but I love this shoe so much I’ll buy more anyway.
Seriously the best performing stability shoe I have ever run in. Very lightweight and responsive.

Great substitute for Saucony Hurricane!
Order the same size as Saucony Hurricane, or half size up compared to other shoes
Tmhathome –
These sneakers are amazing. I have had a bad case of plantar fasciitis in the past and often have flair-ups. I contacted a Saucony representative and she suggested several sneakers. Went with the one above and they have been the perfect fit and I feel comfortable in them ALL day. Typically I have to change my foot wear at least twice a day to get through the day. Thank you Saucony for your help! Expensive but worth it! I bought the black ones.

I wore the Guide for many years and ran multiple marathons in them. Sadly, they have changed to a point where they aren’t right for me anymore. Fortunately, the Tempus is a good alternative for me. Good pronation control and good cushioning. I love the bouncy energy return.
Xyz –
Great shoes! Only saucony sneakers keep me from getting shin splints.
Chris –
These are a little narrow, which is great. I’m a perfect 9.5 and I almost never can find athletic shoes or sandals that fit me. Someone recommended ordering a half size up (due to a short foot bed). I say, “Don’t do that.” I ordered up a half size and had to exchange for my regular 9.5 and the footbed is a perfect 9.5 fit.
My ankle isn’t that small (just regular I guess, but my heels and feet are narrow. It so frustrating, there are many versions of wide, but never narrow. I don’t get it, I can’t be the only person with narrower than normal feet.
Thank you Saucony for making your shoes somewhat narrow. I’m begging others to do so, so I can have some shoes that fit.At least start offering A width as well as C, D etc.

I’ve been enjoying running in the Tempus for a couple of years now. I bought three pairs and would have continued to run in them, but my last two pairs seemingly wore out very quickly. My last pair, for example, only has 145 miles on it and yet I’ve been experiencing knee pain when I run — the type of pain that happens when my shoes are wearing out. I switched into a different brand this week and the pain immediately subsided. So, unfortunately, I won’t be purchasing the Tempus again.
